Forever
You are invited to FOREVER, an exhibition that connects the archival nature of clay to the poetic and preposterous nature of a FOREVER postage stamp. (Ceramic material provides us with some of our oldest records of history.) The FOREVER stamp offers the possibility of imagining an equally distant future.
Amber Ginsburg and Robin Lambert asked artist, educators and everyone we knew to place one ounce of wet clay in an envelope and mail it to the FOREVER project with a Forever Postage stamp. The journey through the post left its impression on the material. These marks became a tale, connecting this project to our earliest writing on clay. They are now fired and the journey permanently archived. FOREVER will be on view at the Morean Arts Center for Clay, and St. Petersburg Clay Company at the Train Station.
Artists Participating: Amber Ginsburg, Robin Lambert & anyone who sent FOREVER one ounce of clay.

Fired Up
Fired up is an exploration of the many surfaces that clay can achieve when subjected to atmospheric firings… Wood, salt and soda provide the surface finish for these artists’ work. Each will be demonstrating their work and techniques as part of Blast Off. This show will showcase finished work and provide examples of the many varied surface possibilities – from Chris Gustin’s highly glazed yet wood fired surfaces to John Balistreri’s raw wood fired surfaces, from brilliant color seen in Don Reitz’s new work to the sensuous flowing forms of Tara Wilson’s functional work. Matt Long’s work will highlight his mastery of flashing slips in all the kilns and McKenzie Smith will show off his luminous functional soda fired work.

Trailside Project
A public art project sponsored in part by AMACO was created by the 248 children that attended camp at The Morean Arts Center for Clay summer program. Each week a new group of children would sketch their ideas then vote on which plan would be best to build on. The creative process begins, each panel reflects the work of a new group from the jolly green giant to the scary bug garden, there is even a tribute to Pete Voulkos. Enjoy a stroll along the Pinellas Trail and this colorful installation.
Artists Participating: 248 Morean Arts Center summer camp students and their instructors: Matt Schiemann, Pete Hynes, Dani Sigler, Jared Gelormino, Adam Yungbluth, Jay Titus and Nicola Kuba.
